Caught in the Act! Kyoko and Mitaka - Hot and Heavy! is the sixtieth episode of the Maison Ikkoku anime.

Synopsis[]

After the events of the previous episode, Mitaka has been sick, and he uses that opportunity to ask Kyōko to come to his place. Coincidentally Godai and Asuna also arrive at his place, and due to a misunderstanding Godai and Asuna see Kyōko and Mitaka in a compromising situation. How are Godai and Kyōko gonna clear things between then?

  • In the scene where Godai is following Kyōko on the train, there is an ad that says "SUN TORY PURE MALT WHISKY". That is a reference to Suntory Whisky, a popular brand of japanese whisky.
  • In the scene where Kyōko arrives at Mitaka's apartment, his doorbell has the Mitsubishi logo on it (with the three red rhombi).
  • In the scene where Godai spent the night at Sakamoto's place, there is a moment when Sakamoto's refrigerator is seen. It is a "National" brand one. "National" was a real brand used by Panasonic Corporation (formerly Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.) focused on home appliances.
  • In the scene where Godai and Kozue are at the restaurant, there is a song in the background: it is called "Skin Deep" by singer CINDY from her 1986 album "Love Life".
