Godai's Out of It! Kyoko's on the Rampage is the twenty-sixth episode of the Maison Ikkoku anime.
Synopsis[]
Due to a friend's insistence, Kyōko starts to rethink the idea of dating someone. So she accepts a date with Mitaka where they talk about the future. Meanwhile Godai invites Kozue to his room at Maison Ikkoku to cook something. Are the tenants gonna interfere with Godai's date? What does Kyōko really think about Mitaka and Godai?

- In the scenes where Kyōko is talking to her friend at the café there is an insert song called "One Tack Mind" by singer CINDY from her 1986 album "Love Life".
- According to a wall calendar on Kyōko's room, this episode takes place on a month that has 31 days, and starts on a Tuesday the 1st.
- This episode aired on September 1986, but the Tankobon manga counterpart was published around May 1983.
- That being said, the closest months that comply with these requirements are: March 1983, May 1984, January 1985, October 1985 and July 1986.
- In the scenes where Godai and Kozue are at his bedroom, there are a couple of pop music references:
- There is a poster on the wall that says "Akina" on it. This is most likely a reference to japanese singer Akina Nakamori.
- There are a couple of books on Godai's bookshelf that say "WHAM" on them, probably referring to the English pop duo from the 80s.
- On the scene where Kyōko is walking on the street, there are two signs that say "MIYAKE" hanging in one of the buildings. They are another reference to Shinobu Miyake from Urusei Yatsura.
