What!? Kyoko Married!? Godai's Tearful Goodbye is the thirtieth episode of the Maison Ikkoku anime.
Synopsis[]
Rumors start to spread that Kyōko and Mitaka will get married, so a heartbroken Godai decides it's time to leave Maison Ikkoku, and rents a bedroom somewhere else. Kyōko does not understand the reason of Godai's departure, and looks to deliver a package to him. Is Kyōko gonna get an explanation for Godai's actions?

- This episode aired on October 1986, but the Tankobon manga counterpart was published around June 1983.

- In the scene where Godai is walking on the street thinking, he almost crashes with a girl that resembles Shinobu Miyake from Urusei Yatsura.
- In the scene where Godai and Yotsuya are at the café, there is a song in the background: it is called "Try your Luck Again" by singer CINDY from her 1986 album "Love Life".
